What a prescription does and does not answer

A prescription is an order for a pharmacy to supply a medicine. Keep the product and the reason for it in view.

Look for an assessment, not a shopping step

A prescription medicine needs an order from a licensed health professional under the federal rule checked on September 26, 2026.

Ask who will review your history.

Ask what information is missing before a decision can be made.

Ask how the clinician will explain a decision against treatment.

Keep the medicine’s status separate

FDA means the US medicines agency.

Even when prescribed, a compounded medicine is not FDA-approved, as recorded on September 26, 2026.

Epitalon, a man-made peptide, had no US approval as of September 28, 2026.

Ask to see the medicine’s official prescribing information, the detailed document often called a drug label, rather than just the name on its package.

Ask how its ingredient qualifies for the preparation being offered.

Request evidence about the proposed use, not a different product’s results.

Make the follow-up concrete

The medical boards’ guidance calls for patients to have a direct chance to question the clinician after a visit.

Who explains the plan after the prescription is written?

Who reviews test results?

How do I reach the clinician rather than only a payment desk?

What happens if the proposed plan does not suit my goals?
