Read the evidence

Read the record behind an epitalon claim

Epitalon is a man-made peptide. Choose a study for a claim about benefit, a drug record for approval, or meeting papers for what a committee discussed.

Pick the record for your question

For the overall evidence

FDA means the US medicines agency.

The July 2026 FDA epitalon briefing reviews human studies, cell and animal work, ingredient quality and the proposed use for insomnia.

  • Read the conclusion, then the section about the claimed benefit.
  • Notice which form of epitalon was studied.
  • Keep the older extract’s name separate from epitalon.

For a claim about the committee

The advisory panel discussed epitalon on July 24, 2026.

FDA had published neither meeting notes nor an official record of the vote by September 28, 2026.

An advisory vote gives advice; changing the pharmacy ingredient list requires a separate formal rule process.

That process includes a published draft and a chance for the public to comment.

  • A voting question on an agenda does not tell you the result.
  • Ask for the final rule behind a claim that permission changed.

For a study headline

The older reports about longer life in people used epithalamin, a mixture taken from a gland in cattle brains, rather than the man-made peptide epitalon.

  • Read the substance name in the original study record.
  • Check whether the work involved cells, animals or people.
  • Find what was actually measured before accepting the headline.
  • Bring the study link to the clinician and ask what it changes about the plan.
